What would you do if you had an engineering degree, a corporate job offer worth Rs 5 lakh a year and a chance to build a mainstream career? For most people, the answer would be simple: take the job.But Mayuri Nitin Kale chose a different path.Instead of moving to Pune for a corporate role, she stayed in Nashik with her young daughter, turned down the job offer and started a small juice shop despite having no prior business experience.Less than two years later, that decision has transformed his life. Today, his business makes a monthly net profit of around Rs 80,000, with annual revenue close to Rs 50 lakh. His journey shows that sometimes success doesn’t come from choosing the safest option, but from choosing the one that aligns with your priorities.

An engineer who chose family over a corporate career

Mayuri grew up in Songaon, Niphad taluka of Maharashtra and excelled in academics. He completed his BA in Electronics and started building his professional career.Shortly after finishing engineering, he got married. Later, she became a mother, bringing new responsibilities and new priorities to her life.Determined to improve her skills, she also completed a course in electric vehicle design. Her efforts paid off when she got a corporate job offer with an annual package of Rs 5 lakh. There was only one challenge.Work forced her to move to Pune, away from her family and young daughter. For many, it would have been too good an opportunity to turn down. But Mayuri decided that at that stage in her life, staying close to her family mattered more than a corporate designation.

A small juice stand became his biggest break

At the same time, Mayuri’s husband suggested something completely unexpected.Instead of looking for another job, why not run a Juice Farm outlet on College Road in NashikRs I had never run a business before.I had no retail experience. He was not from a business family. However, he chose to give entrepreneurship a shot.In February 2024, Mayuri officially took over the outlet.Just as I was beginning to understand the business, another challenge came. Her husband had to leave for Iran for work almost immediately, leaving her to run the business mostly alone.

Balancing business, home and motherhood

The days were anything but easy. From early in the morning until almost 11 at night, Mayuri managed customers, stock, suppliers, accounts and operations at the juice center.Once she returned home, household chores and child care awaited her. There were moments of exhaustion and doubt. But instead of giving up, he focused on getting a little better every day.He learned how to manage inventory efficiently, understand customer preferences, improve service quality, and better organize his time. His biggest lesson was that discipline and consistency mattered far more than previous business experience.

Quality and customer trust became their main strengths

Instead of competing on price alone, Mayuri decided to differentiate itself in two ways.He focused on maintaining consistent quality in every drink served. He also personally interacted with customers, explaining the health benefits of fresh juices and ensuring they had a positive experience. Many customers who initially came in out of curiosity became regular visitors.Word of mouth recommendations helped grow the business. With increased footfall came greater sales, better profits, and more confidence.

From a point of sale to bigger entrepreneurial dreams

Within months, Mayuri started seeing encouraging financial results.Today, his juice business generates about Rs 80,000 crore in monthly profit, while the annual revenue is estimated to be close to Rs 50 lakh. The company has also created employment for others, with staff helping to manage the day-to-day operations.Instead of stopping there, Mayuri has already expanded her entrepreneurial journey by becoming a partner in another company, proving that one successful business can often become the foundation for many more.

His most important message is not about business, but about courage

Looking back, Mayuri believes that turning down the corporate job was one of the biggest decisions of her life.He often says that entrepreneurship does not always require years of experience or large investments. What it really takes is the courage to start. Her advice to aspiring entrepreneurs, especially women, is simple: don’t let fear decide your future.Today, the engineering graduate who once worried about turning down a steady job has built something she proudly calls her own.His story is a reminder that success doesn’t always come from climbing the corporate ladder. Sometimes it starts with a small shop, unwavering determination and the courage to believe in yourself.Disclaimer: This article is based on interviews, reports and publicly shared information about Mayuri Nitin Kale and his entrepreneurial journey.
