Rajasthan Government Local Self-Government Department has released the official notification for Rajasthan Safai Karamchari Recruitment 2026. The recruitment drive will fill more than 24000 Safai Karamchari (Sanitation Worker) contract posts in 183 Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of the state.One of the highlights of this recruitment is that no educational qualification has been prescribed. Candidates who have never attended school can also apply if they meet the required work experience criteria. As there is no educational qualification requirement, there will also be no written exam or interview for the selection.The online application process will start on 15th August 2026.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates applying for Rajasthan Safai Karamchari Recruitment 2026 must fulfill the following conditions:
- Applicant must be a permanent resident of Rajasthan.
- No educational qualifications are required.
- Candidate must be physically and mentally fit.
- Applicants must have at least one year of work experience in sanitation.
- The one-year experience can be continuous or combined from different periods.
- Candidates having work experience in sanitation in any Urban Local Body in Rajasthan can apply.
- The experience certificate should be issued by the competent authority as specified in the notification.
- Each candidate can apply for only one Urban Local Body of the 183 participating bodies.
age limitCandidates must be at least 21 years of age and must not be more than 40 years of age on January 1, 2027.Age relaxation will be available as per government rules:
- Male candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Other Backward Class (OBC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories who are permanent residents of Rajasthan will get 5 years relaxation.
- Women who are permanent residents of Rajasthan will get 5 years of relaxation.
- Women belonging to SC, ST, OBC, Most Backward Class (MBC) and EWS categories who are permanent residents of Rajasthan will get 10 years of relaxation.
Selection process
There will be no interview or written exam.The selection will be made through a lottery system that will be carried out separately for each Urban Local Entity. Preference will be given to candidates who have one year of work experience in sanitation in the corresponding urban local body. If there are not enough eligible candidates available, experienced applicants from other Urban Local Entities will be considered for the lottery process.
Application fee
Candidates will have to pay the application fee according to their category:
- General (Unreserved): ₹600
- Reserved Category Candidates: ₹400
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): ₹400
The application link will be activated on the official recruitment portal from 15th August 2026 after which eligible candidates can complete the online application process and pay the required fee.
