NTA schedules re-test of UGC NET after technical issues at Jalandhar exam centre

UGC NET June 2026 reexamination: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a re-examination for a section of candidates affected by technical issues during the UGC NET June 2026 examination at the CT Group of Institutions Examination Center in Jalandhar. The disruption was reported during the I shift of the exam held on June 22, 2026.In an official notice issued by NTA, the agency stated that the issue was brought to the notice of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), which had been identified to conduct the examination. The agency clarified that the inconvenience was limited to candidates from the affected center who, despite being present, could not appear or complete the exam due to technical issues.A re-examination has been announced for the affected candidates in round-IAs per the notification, only those candidates who were present at the CT Group of Institutions Exam Centre, Jalandhar and who could not appear or complete the exam will be eligible for the re-examination. NTA regretted the inconvenience caused and confirmed that the affected candidates would be given another chance to appear for the examination.

The re-examination has been scheduled for July 5, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. It will be conducted at the same examination center in Jalandhar where the disruption occurred.NTA clarifies that the exam has not been canceled across the countryThe agency clarified that the June 2026 UGC NET exam has not been canceled across the country. The technical issue was reported only at the Jalandhar exam center and the re-examination decision applies only to the affected candidates in Round I of that venue.NTA stated that the measure was being taken to ensure that candidates who could not complete the test due to reasons beyond their control are allowed to appear for the examination.Revised admit cards should be issuedNTA has informed the candidates that further details regarding re-examination will be communicated through revised admit cards. These admit cards will contain information related to exam schedule, reporting time and other instructions for the eligible candidates.Candidates affected by the disruption have been advised to monitor the NTA official website for updates on the release of revised admit cards and other exam related announcements.The official notice, issued by the Director (Examinations), NTA, confirmed that the re-examination arrangement is applicable only to the affected candidates of the I round at Jalandhar centre.
