‘The Rookie’ star Nathan Fillion took the opportunity to become famous on the show. In one of his recent interviews, the actor revealed how he used his fame from ‘The Rookie’ to get out a speeding ticket. He also revealed how the soldier ended up offending another person.

Nathan Fillion talks about how he used ‘The Rookie’ to his advantage

On Monday, July 27, going to the San Diego Comic Con with his friends, Nathan Fillion opened up about his encounter with the police and how he used his fame from the show to get out of a speeding ticket. PEOPLE reports that while talking about the fun moment, he also said he was pulled over for speeding, and the officer recognized him. He said, “I got pulled over once, and the officer looked at my ID and said, ‘I know you’re an actor.‘ I said, ‘Yes… actually, I’m fine.’However, they managed to mistake Fillion for Jason Bateman, who is best known for his work in ‘Arrested Development’ and ‘Ozark’. Fillion added, “He said, ‘If you give my wife an autograph, I’ll give you a warning. I said, ‘Good.’ He gave me his phone. I asked, ‘What is your wife’s name?’ He said, ‘Lily.’ So I wrote, ‘To Lily…’ Then I heard her say, ‘Hey honey, I’m getting you an autograph, it’s Jason Bateman.’Then the actor continued and said that he could not fix the old man and went with him. “And I signed it… ‘All my love, Jason Bateman,'” he said, making everyone laugh at the hilarious performance. Fillion shared this story in 2021 when he appeared on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” as a guest.

Deric Augustine shares a similar story with the police

Her boyfriend, Deric Augustine, also shared a similar story when he was let in by a police officer who recognized him. He shared at Comic-Con, “I recently got pulled over for my tinted windows, and the cop recognized me from The Rookie. He let me go.” Lisseth Chavez, however, joked that she was also unfortunately pulled over by a police officer; they did not share the privileges of the staff and were eventually drafted for speeding offences.‘The Rookie’ just released the end of the eighth season, and they have already started filming the 9th movie, which is expected to be shown for the first time in 2027.
