SSC CGL 2026 application window reopens for two days after candidates seek more time – check details here

the Staff Selection Commission has reopened the SSC CGL 2026 application process for two additional days. The move follows numerous requests from candidates who were unable to register earlier. The revised calendar includes updated deadlines for payment of fees and application corrections, giving applicants one last chance to participate.

The Staff Selection Commission has reopened the application window for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2026 examination after receiving several applications from candidates who were unable to complete their registrations within the original deadline.The SSC had released the notification for the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026 on 21 May 2026 and kept the online application process open till 22 June 2026. According to the Commission, more than 28 thousand candidates successfully applied during this period, highlighting the immense popularity of one of the largest recruitment examinations in India.Despite the high number of registrations, the Commission said it received several representations from candidates citing various difficulties preventing them from completing their applications before the deadline. Keeping these concerns in mind, SSC has decided to provide an additional opportunity to the eligible candidates.

Application submission window open until June 25

As per the latest announcement, the online application portal has been reopened for two days. Candidates can now submit their applications from June 23, 2026 at 11:00 PM to June 25, 2026 at 11:00 PM.The Commission has also reviewed the deadlines related to the examination process. As the application deadline has been extended, the new closing date of 25 June 2026 will now be considered as the crucial date for determining the eligibility criteria wherever applicable to the examination notice.

The fee payment deadline has been extended

Candidates who submit their applications during the extended period can make the fee payment online till 26th June 2026 at 11:00 PM.The SSC has advised applicants to complete both the registration and fee payment processes well before the deadline to avoid last-minute technical issues or heavy traffic on the portal.

Revised patch window dates

The extension has also brought changes to the application correction schedule. The “Application Form Correction Window” will now remain open from 1st July to 3rd July 2026 till 11:00 PM.This facility will enable the candidates to review and correct the permitted details in the submitted application forms before the examination process proceeds to the next phase.

There are no other changes to the exam notice

Apart from the revised application-related dates, the Commission has clarified that all other terms and conditions mentioned in the original Combined Degree Examination 2026 notification issued on May 21 will remain unchanged.The SSC CGL exam is one of the most sought after recruitment tests in the country, attracting thousands of graduates every year for vacancies in various central government departments and ministries.
