Those places are limited to one per continent,” the ICC said in a release on Monday.The fifth spot in the competition, in both the women’s and men’s categories, can go to the hosts USA, provided they move into the top 15 of the ICC T20I rankings at any point between June 30 and December 31, 2026. If the USA does not achieve that ranking, the spot will go to the highest-ranked non-qualified team in the ICC Women’s rankings for 20I 7, March 20I.In the men’s competition, if the USA does not meet the required ranking criteria, the fifth automatic qualification spot will be awarded to the next highest ranked team from any continent that has not yet qualified by December 31, 2026.The sixth and final Olympic place in the men’s and women’s events will be decided by the first ICC Olympics Qualifier, which will be held in 2027.The ICC also explained how the qualification will work for the West Indies.
