England 117/6 in 19.1 Overs

ENG vs NZ, Third Test Live. Archer, Stokes keep England alive with the ball

England’s bowlers never allowed New Zealand to score freely despite the visitors starting the day in a strong position. Jofra Archer struck early by removing Tom Blundell and later claimed his fourth wicket when Nathan Smith bowled a short ball to wicketkeeper Jamie Smith. Ben Stokes bowled another remarkable spell, bowling 11 consecutive overs despite the physical demands.

He eventually dismissed Zakary Foulkes after ending a tough partnership, with the wicket coming shortly after news broke that it would be his last international match. Jamie Smith also played a key role behind the stumps by convincing Stokes to successfully review against Mitchell Santner. Earlier, Shoaib Bashir denied Rachin Ravindra a deserved century by trapping him lbw on 94. England’s disciplined effort kept New Zealand’s scoring rate in check, but Daryl Mitchell’s unbeaten century ensured the visitors still declared with an advantage.
