IIT Kanpur extends deadline for MTech, MSc and PG Diploma online admissions 2026; consult the revised calendar
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has extended the application deadline for admission to its online postgraduate programs for the September 2026 academic session. Interested candidates can now submit their applications through the official admission portal.As per the revised schedule, candidates applying for IIT Kanpur online entrance test can submit their applications till 1st July 2026. Those who are exempted from the entrance test can apply till 10th July 2026.

- Artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Wireless Networks and Machine Learning (Win-ML)
- Construction Engineering and Project Management
- Master of Science (MSc)
- Economics and data analysis
- Post Graduate Diploma (PG Diploma)
- cyber security
The programs are designed for both new graduates and active professionals who want to improve their skills or build a career in technology and management.
Eligibility criteria
Candidates applying for online MTech programs must have a relevant bachelor’s degree with at least 55 percent marks.Admission will be offered through:
- IIT Kanpur Online Entrance Test Pg
- A valid score on the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), Common Entrance Examination in Design (CEED), Common Admission Test (CAT), Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM), Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT).
Candidates with valid scores in these national level exams can be exempted from IIT Kanpur online entrance test and can appear till 10th July 2026.
Application fee
Applicants have to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs.5000 while submitting the application form. Payment must be made online.
