Over 2.73 lakh aspirants have registered for Delhi University (DU) undergraduate admissions for the academic session 2026-27, with over 2.06 lakh candidates completing the program and university preference filling process under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG). The university will release the first seat allotment list on July 16 after the preference editing window closes on July 13.The admission data shows that 2,73,751 candidates registered on the CSAS-UG portal, while 2,18,284 completed the enrollment process. Of these, 2,06,835 applicants submitted their program and university preferences before the Phase II deadline. Female applications account for a larger proportion of entries, with 1,20,509 applicants compared to 97,775 males.
Edition of preferences open until July 13
Delhi University released mock ranks on July 12 to give candidates an indicative estimate of their standing based on their CUET-UG 2026 scores and the program and college preferences they submitted.Candidates can review or reorder their preferences until 4:59 p.m. on July 13. After the deadline, preferences will be locked for the first round of seat allocation, scheduled to be announced on July 16.
BCom (Hons) remains the most sought after programme
Preference data indicates that commerce and humanities programs continue to dominate applicants’ choices this year. Candidates had to map the subjects studied in class 12 with the relevant CUET-UG papers before selecting the eligible programs and university combinations.The ten most preferred programs are: BCom (Hons), BCom, BA (Hons) English, BA (Hons) Political Science, BA (History and Political Science), BA (Hons) History, BSc (Hons) Zoology, Mathematics, BSc Program (Life Sciences) and BA (Hons) Economics
Admissions are offered to 67 universities
The university is conducting admissions to 73 degree programs and more than 100 combinations of BA programs in 67 colleges. Admissions will be based entirely on CUET-UG 2026 scores, subject to program-specific eligibility criteria prescribed by the university.Candidates who are allotted seats in the first round will have to accept their allotment within the notified deadline. Colleges will then verify the documents before approving admissions, then candidates will have to pay the prescribed fee to confirm their seats. Further rounds of allotment of seats will be conducted for the vacancies as per the admission schedule of the university.The university is also conducting the third round of admissions under the CSAS-PG process, with candidates completing seat acceptance and other admission formalities as per the revised schedule.(With PTI tickets)
