Corporate Mitra course launched with IIT Madras MoU; registration details will be announced soon
NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has announced that the Corporate Mitra scheme, introduced in the Union Budget 2026-27, will create a pool of qualified and certified professionals to support MSMEs in managing regulatory and business compliance. The initiative will make it easier to do business and contribute to Viksit Bharat.The Ministry of Corporate Affairs formed a steering committee after the budget announcement to lay the groundwork for the implementation of the plan. Regular reviews by the ministry ensured coordination among professional institutes including ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI along with IIT Madras. The ministry guided the finalization of the scheme guidelines, brochures and corporate Mitra logo.Details and eligibility of the Mitra corporate courseThe program is open to Indian citizens up to 30 years of age who are graduates or students in their final year of graduation. The course includes around 150 hours of online academic learning through expert-led sessions, followed by six months of on-the-job training with professional companies.Certification as a Corporate Partner will be offered upon successful completion of academic modules and practical training. Candidates will be exposed to accounting, tax, banking, financial management, legal and secretarial and cost and management accounting practices.MoU signed for course deploymentAn MoU was signed on 25 June 2026 between IIT Madras, IIT Pravartak, Swayam Plus, ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI to operationalize the Corporate Mitra scheme. The Corporate Mitra logo was also released on the same day.Academic support for the Corporate Mitra course will be provided by ICAI, ICSI and ICoAI. The academic module will be delivered through the Swayam Plus portal for national rollout. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs also supports the hosting of course content designed on the platform.Fee structure and registration updateCorporate Mitra course fee is Rs 3000 plus GST. There will be a concession of 50% in the quota for male and female candidates from North Eastern states, Himalayan regions, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has informed that the announcement of the opening of registration for the Corporate Mitra course will be made shortly. The registration process will be available through the web pages of MCA, Swayam Plus, ICAI, ICSI i ICoAI.The program aims to offer structured academic and practical training through professional institutes and educational platforms. Eligible candidates who complete the required modules and training will be certified as a Corporate Partner after meeting the established criteria.
