Assam continues to grapple with one of the worst floods in recent years, actor Salman Khan has stepped forward to help those affected by the disaster. While Vamshi Paidipally’s upcoming film is untitled in Mumbai, the actor is said to be coordinating relief efforts with his Assam club to ensure that the essentials reach the affected areas.According to Mid-Day, a report says, “He joined the Salman Khan Fan Club [SKFC] Assam is preparing a way to help those affected. “
Being Human begins the first phase of treatment
Salman Khan’s charity, Being Human, has partnered with Salman Khan Fan Club (SKFC) Assam to start a charity campaign. The first phase is focused on distributing ready-to-eat food packets to families in Sivasagar, with transport from Guwahati.Explaining the project, the report said: “Each packet contains biscuits, jaggery, poha, parboiled rice, bread, cheese, and jam. Salman’s main goal is to ensure that families have enough food for at least three days until the situation improves.”Apart from food, volunteers are also providing drinking water, water purification tablets, mosquito repellents and mosquito nets to the people living in the flood affected areas.

This humanitarian project is expected to continue in several phases. The next phase, which should start next week, will focus on distributing equipment and medicines to the affected families.In the final phase of the project, Khuwa Manhu plans to help rebuild schools and hospitals that have been severely damaged by the floods, helping people to recover in the long term.
Bhumi Pednekar joins the charity
Actress Bhumi Pednekar has also supported the people of Assam by partnering with the Bharat Disaster Relief Foundation (BDRF), which has been providing relief materials, basic sanitation, drinking water and other relief materials to Sivasagar.The report revealed, “When Bhumi realized that BDRF was running relief projects in Assam, she joined the non-profit organization.”
Singers have teamed up for a fundraising campaign
Entertainers have also come together to raise funds for flood relief. On July 25, Assamese singer Papon joined Vishal Dadlani, Divya Kumar and Nilotpal Bora for a recent Instagram charity concert, urging viewers to contribute to the ongoing charity. The floods have affected nearly 7 lakh people, prompting celebrities and humanitarian organizations to come together to support the rescue and rehabilitation efforts across the country.
