Commonwealth Games 2026 Day 6 Live Updates. India will be looking to build on its six-medal haul on Monday in Glasgow

Commonwealth Games 2026 Day 6 Live Updates. A day after enjoying its most successful outing at this Commonwealth Games, India returned to action with renewed confidence and ample medal opportunities in multiple disciplines. Monday belonged to the Indian contingent, which collected six medals, highlighted by Sharmila Dhankar’s historic gold in the women’s F57 shot put — India’s first-ever para-athletics gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. Silver medals from Sarvesh Kushare, Valluri Ajaya Babu and Gyaneshwari Yadav, along with bronze medals by Shilpa K. Shyla and Bindyarani Devi, took India’s total tally to 10.

Attention now turns to Tuesday, where the challenge is to build on that momentum. Weightlifting once again offered India’s strongest medal prospects, with Nirupama Devi Seram and Harjinder Kaur competing in their respective finals after the discipline provided several podium finishes the previous day.

The boxing ring promises another crucial session with Preeti Pawar, Priya Ghanghas, Parveen Hooda, Jadumani Singh and Kapil Pokhariya in the quarterfinal bouts. A win in any of the matches would guarantee at least a bronze medal, making it one of India’s busiest and most important events of the day.

Athletics also presented medal opportunities, with Pooja Singh featuring in the women’s high jump final and Gulveer Singh lining up in the men’s 10,000m final. Earlier, Vishal TK and Rajesh Ramesh will compete in the men’s 400m heats.

Swimming and para swimming complete India’s schedule, with Sajan Prakash and Srihari Nataraj targeting semifinals places, while Karthik Budigina and Ali Imam begin their campaigns in the men’s 50m freestyle S13 event.

After a memorable Monday that created history and six medals, the Indian contingent will be eager to continue the momentum as another packed day of competition unfolds in Glasgow.
