When Jay Z currently on his 30th anniversary tour, one of his latest moves has drawn a lot of criticism. The rapper was scheduled to perform the finale of his three-night run at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, but attendees were hit with a three-hour delay. Following an online debate over the incident, the singer took the stage to perform his set and addressed the delay.
Jay Z says the concert delay was due to public safety
As soon as the rapper took the stage, he apologized for the delay and explained what happened. He said, “Let me explain the delay to you guys. There were like 10,000 people outside, and we locked all the doors, and someone ran to the door. They locked the door for the safety of you guys and the safety of everyone outside. There are 10,000 people outside; I don’t want to start music and people get trampled. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I had to make sure everyone was okay. I appreciate your patience.”The video began just after 12 a.m. ET, about three hours later than planned, and was completed around 2:45 a.m. ET.
