Amidst the success of the show, the actor recently opened up about his fitness regimen, diet and his journey to cure cancer.Bendre revealed that he follows a fasting routine and is careful about his diet. When the actor noticed that he had eaten heavily during the meeting, the actor explained that he had just finished fasting.Recalling that time, she said that when she had eaten before, she must have fasted for more than 16 hours. At the age of 51, Sonali Bendre follows a routine of intermittent fasting. The player usually only eats one and a half meals a day, sometimes up to two full meals. Instead of eating regularly throughout the day, they choose to skip meals and fast for 18 to 20 hours.In an interview with Mashable India, Sonali said, “I fast for 18-20 hours,” revealed Bendre, adding that she follows intermittent fasting. He said he eats “one and a half meals a day”. Sometimes, they eat twice a day, but usually they fast for 18-20 hours and only eat once and a half a day.In one of his articles on X, Bendre wrote about how autophagy, the body’s cell recycling mechanism, helped him heal and that he still follows it. “In 2018, when I was diagnosed with cancer, this study helped me a lot. My naturopath informed me, I researched, and this is what I followed, autophagy for healing. And I continue to follow to this day. “The actor also revealed how he was affected after being diagnosed with stage IV metastatic cancer in 2018, where the disease had spread to his brain. Although she admitted that the disease was dangerous, she said she quickly realized that fear would not help her overcome the problem.“Thodi der ka emotion hai [You feel scared for a short while],” he added. She explained that after the initial shock, she chose to face her illness and remained committed to her healing journey.In a previous appearance on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, Bendre recalled that cancer was not something she expected doctors to detect during her first test. “It wasn’t a conversation that everybody was talking about,” he said, adding that it happened to “someone somewhere”. He wanted to avoid rumors and speculations; so he shared the news on Instagram. “I wanted it to be my story,” he added.The actor also admitted that his first reaction to the diagnosis was denial. Looking back, he expressed regret that the disease was not detected sooner. “If I had caught them early, I wouldn’t have had these side effects for the rest of my life,” she said, referring to the long-term effects of her treatment.Bendre credited her husband, filmmaker Goldie Behl, for stepping in right away and making sure she received the best possible care. When he found her, he took her to New York for treatment, which she greatly appreciated.“I can only thank him for that, and nothing else,” he said. Since beating cancer, Bendre has been vocal about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, exercising regularly and eating clean. He has also used his platform to raise awareness about cancer and encourage people to prioritize early detection and timely treatment.
