The University of Delhi (DU) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Center (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs to expand collaboration on cyber security, awareness and capacity building.The agreement was signed on Monday in the Council Chamber of the Viceroyal Lodge University of Delhi campus by Dr. Vikas Gupta, DU Registrar and I4C Director Nishant Kumar.

Focus on cyber awareness

The partnership aims to build a stronger cybersecurity ecosystem at the university through awareness campaigns, workshops, seminars and student engagement programs.The two institutions will also work together on hackathons, competitions, internships, cyber volunteering initiatives and academic activities related to cyber security. Collaboration will be promoted University Grants Commission (UGC) notified cyber security courses and encourages knowledge sharing between government and academia.

Capacity building for students

University officials said the partnership aims to improve students’ understanding of cybercrime prevention and cyber hygiene while creating opportunities to engage in research and hands-on training.The collaboration was facilitated under the initiative of Prof. Sanjeev Singh. The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. K. Ratnabali and senior officials of DU and I4C.The deal comes at a time when universities are increasingly expanding cybersecurity education beyond the classroom through partnerships with industry and government.
