‘1.66 cr records scraped’: Class 12 student Sarthak Sidhant, who flagged CBSE tender discrepancies, launches public portal on govt recruitment

Class 12 student Sarthak Sidhant, who recently grabbed national attention for his analysis of the CBSE digital assessment tender, launched a public procurement portal on Friday after clearing around 1.66 million records from the government’s Central Public Procurement Portal (CPP).“Transparency must be accessible. From today it is,” he wrote to X. “Over the past two weeks, around 1 crore 66 lakh records were removed from the government’s CPP portal. The Nation’s procurement database is now publicly available to all,” he added. Sidhant asked people to download the database and explore it further. “Download the database and start diving deeper. This is the beginning. More to come,” he added. Sidhant came into the national limelight after he published a detailed blog examining the CBSE’s On-Screen Marking System (OSM) and official tender documents linked to the digital assessment of Class 12 answer sheets.The student from Ranchi started investigating the issue after getting scanned copies of his own answer sheets and noticing differences in his marks. As more students raised concerns about transparency in the digital assessment process, he started comparing different versions of CBSE recruitment and tender documents available on public platforms. Sidhant has claimed that he found several changes in different bidding rounds, including modifications to eligibility criteria, performance clauses and certification requirements. He said these changes raise questions about the bidding process. Sidhant also appeared before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, where he presented his findings and expressed his concerns about the evaluation system and tender process.
