Almost seven weeks after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) concluded the Class 10 second board examination 2026, thousands of students are still waiting for their results, with anxiety rising steadily on social media.The last exam was held on May 21, 2026. As of July 9, 2026, 49 days have passed since the exams ended, but CBSE has not announced the date and time for the declaration of results. While the board has been tight-lipped about an official timetable, several reports indicate that the results are likely to be released this week, though no formal confirmation has been issued.The prolonged wait has led to students and parents flooding X (earlier Twitter), questioning the delay and expressing concern over the pending Class 11 admissions.
More than 6.68 lakh students are waiting for results
The second board exam, conducted between May 15 and 21, was introduced under CBSE’s new two-board exam system, giving eligible students another chance to improve their scores during the same academic session.According to CBSE data, 6,68,854 candidates registered for the exam. This included 5,25,655 enhancement candidates, 85,285 compartment candidates and 57,914 students belonging to both categories.Once declared, the tribunal will produce the final result following the best-of-two policy whereby the highest mark obtained by a student in either the first or the second tribunal examination will be considered for the final mark.
Parents and students question the delay
With class 11 admissions already underway in many schools, several parents say the delay has created uncertainty regarding stream allocation and fee payment.X user Rabia Hasan (@Rabiahasan368) wrote that her son had scored 81.4 percent in the first board exam and was awaiting the result of the second board to secure admission to the science stream.“Dear CBSE, My son scored 81.4% in class 10th first term board exam and he wants science stream. Second exam result is still pending and schools are not confirming admission. Please release the results urgently.”Another user, Rahul Mehta (@rahul_rvm82), asked why the result had taken so long despite the exam being concluded weeks back.“What is going on in CBSE? Why is the result of Class 10 Second Board exams pending for so long?”He also alleged that students were bearing the brunt of the delay, noting that schools started the calculations of class 11 fees from April while many admissions are pending.Similarly, Mangesh Sharma (@Mangesh13377364) tagged Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and CBSE, requesting early declaration of results.“CBSE Board 2nd Exam Result 2026 is not out yet…exam was conducted on 21st May 2026. Dear Sir please help.”Another X-user DINO (@DeependraEngg) highlighted the financial burden on parents, saying that schools are charging fees from April even as many students are still waiting for admission confirmation after the second board results.The concern is also reflected in online student communities, where candidates say the uncertainty is affecting their Class 11 admissions and academic planning.
The results of the first council set a high benchmark
Earlier this year, CBSE declared the results of the first class 10 exam with an overall pass percentage of 93.70 percent. Of the 24,71,777 students who appeared, 23,16,008 qualified.Among the regions, Trivandrum and Vijayawada recorded the highest pass percentage at 99.79 per cent each, followed by Chennai at 99.58 per cent and Bangalore at 98.91 per cent.
