Christopher Nolan‘s ‘The Odyssey’ continued its run at the Indian box office. Starring Matt Damon in the lead role, the epic adventure saw a good growth at the box office on Tuesday, thus registering a slight increase in collections crossing the Rs 90 crore mark in India.

Collection of ‘The Odyssey’ Tuesday

After a blockbuster opening weekend and an expected drop on Monday, The Odyssey bounced back with a slight increase in earnings on Tuesday, showing a solid midweek performance.According to early market estimates, ‘The Odyssey’ collected Rs 8.35 crore on Day 5 from 8,520 screens. According to the report, the film has grown by 4.4 percent compared to Monday which is estimated at Rs 8 crore nett. With this, the film’s total in India has risen to Rs 77.65 crore, while the total in India stands at around Rs 92.63 crore.

‘The Odyssey’ weekend collection

The film opened with Rs 17.40 crore nett on Friday before climbing to Rs 22 crore nett on Saturday and saw a slight drop on Sunday collecting Rs 21.90 crore nett. With a collection of Rs 61.3 crore, the film delivered one of the strongest opening weeks for a Christopher Nolan film in India.

The English version of ‘The Odyssey’ continues to dominate

Since its release on Friday, the original English version has remained the biggest contributor to the film’s collection. On Tuesday alone, the English version raked in around Rs 6.50 crore, capturing a record 63 percent audience among all language versions. The English version of the flm has collected Rs 72.68 crore so far, while the Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions continue to contribute slowly to the overall box office.

‘The Odyssey’ becomes the highest grossing IMAX film in India

‘The Odyssey’ has also set the record for IMAX in India. The film collected Rs 15.33 crore from only 34 IMAX screens in its three days of screening. According to sacnilk, about 25 percent of the film’s Rs 61.40 crore opening weekend collection came from 34 high-definition screens, while the remaining 75% was generated from about 2,700 screens across the country.With this, the film has now surpassed Tom Cruise’s epic ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’, making ‘The Odyssey’ the most successful IMAX opening in Indian box office history.

‘The Odyssey’ eyes the Rs 150 crore mark

Early trade reports suggest that the film is heading for a strong weekend. Bookings for this coming weekend are said to be filling up fast in several cities, with high-quality screenings. With the film performing steadily, the film is now on its way to reach the Rs 150 crore mark in India.
