For more than five decades, Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai, has held a special place in the hearts of the Khan family. Salim Khanthe famous actor behind Sholay, moved into the first floor of the building in 1974 along with his wife. Salma Khan and their five children. Over the years, many children have flown the nest and settled elsewhere, but Salman chose not to return home and continues to live there with his parents to this day. But change is near in the family. A recent report revealed that Salman is currently building a six-storey independent house overlooking the sea which will soon be the family’s new home.
Salman Khan A new bungalow gets a formal permit
According to Hindustan Times, a Maharashtra The Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) gave the Khan family the green light on June 16 to build a residential tower in Chimbai, Bandra, a short distance from their home in Galaxy Apartments. The report also said that the plot where the house will come up was bought in 2011 by Salman’s mother, Salma, also known as Sushila Charak.
Lawrence Bishnoi communal threats forced Salman Khan to move
The decision to move to a new house is said to be in line with the threats Salman has been receiving Lawrence The Bishnoi caste. Things came to a head in 2024 when four shots were fired at the Galaxy Apartments, after which the couple had to seal the famous balcony that fans have been loving. The new bungalow is said to have better security measures to keep the family safe.

The plot that Salma originally bought belonged to Mary Clotilda Baptista and it changed hands several times before the Khan family bought it in 2011. The property had a two-storey bungalow, but as the building had been in poor condition for years, the family decided to destroy it.

Neither Salman nor anyone in his family has responded or confirmed the news so far. On the professional front, Salman has completed the shooting of ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’, though the release date of the film has not been announced. He is currently busy shooting for ‘SVC 63’, which also stars Nayanthara.
