He has been sharing his support through social media and even up to that point.In one of his writings, Prakash Raj wrote, “The world is witnessing a Coward government that doesn’t want to talk to the youth but wants to act like a Dictator. The forced removal of @Wangchuk66 and disrupting the peaceful protests of Students is a sign of Fear.”Then, after the activist and education Sonam Wangchuk was caught by the police, the actor shared another post that said, “Parde ke peeche kya hai, Chappan inch ka Dara hua Nangapan. What’s behind the curtain. 56 inches Shivering Nudity #justasking.”
The actor took action after visiting the protest site
The ‘Singham’ actor later arrived at Jantar Mantar to support the protests led by the youth-led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Sharing a video from the protest website, he wrote, “The youth of our country are just asking.”During the visit, thousands of Cockroach Janta Party supporters went to Delhi, demanding the resignation of the Education Minister. Later reports indicated that police stopped the march with barricades and riots broke out as protesters tried to move forward. Some protesters also reported being injured in baton charges.After seeing the situation, Prakash Raj shared a video and wrote, “I witnessed the brutality of the oppressive regime on the youth of my country. I was shocked…and deeply saddened. Tanashahi nahi chalegi. The world has woken up. This is just the beginning. “On the other hand, on July 19, filmmaker Pa Ranjith also shared his support for Sonam Wangchuk and the critics. He shared a long message on social media after Wangchuk was transferred to a hospital during the 21-day hunger strike at Jantar Mantar.

In a statement, Pa Ranjith wrote on his X handle, “In solidarity with #SonamWangchuk, #CockroachJantaParty and everyone protesting at #JantarMantar.”He also wrote: “Resisting the government in a peaceful protest at Jantar Mantar. The use of force against the protesters, the arrest of those who stand in solidarity, and the decision to move to the hospital Sonam Wangchuk the innovator and advocate to go to the hospital during the hunger strike for 21 days.”Speaking about the cause of the protest, he added, “Sonam Wangchuk’s struggle reflects the anger, anxiety, and uncertainty that millions of young people across the country are forced to endure. Repeated allegations of paper leaks, failures in the examination process, and lack of accountability have put the dreams and future of countless students at risk.”
Call for response
Mr. Pa Ranjith also said that the concerns of the students and protesters should be resolved through dialogue instead of coercion. He wrote: “Instead of responding to these complaints, the government has decided to end peaceful democratic conflicts.”He added, “With the future of the country at stake, the Union education minister and the BJP-led Union government have a duty to respond responsibly, not forcefully.”The head of the ‘Thangalaan’ group also expressed their support for those participating in the protests.
