Kia India has unveiled the much-anticipated Syros EV. The company has also opened pre-bookings for the electric SUV at Rs 25,000 through its official website and dealerships across the country. The Syros EV is offered with two battery pack options and claims an ARAI-certified driving range of up to 526 km.The larger 51.4 kWh battery pack provides an ARAI-certified range of 526 km. It can also be equipped with a small 42 kWh battery that offers a claimed range of 443 km. Power comes from a front-mounted electric motor that produces 171 PS, while the larger battery version can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.1 seconds.Speaking of charging capabilities, with a 100 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 39 minutes. The SUV also has a 10.8 kW onboard AC charger, battery conditioning technology and regenerative braking with i-Pedal mode. Kia also offers a Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty, an Assured Buyback program and its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing option. In terms of design, the Syros EV is mostly similar to its ICE counterpart, except for some EV-specific styling elements such as the brand’s Digital Tiger Face, Ice Cube MFR LED headlamps, Star Map LED lighting, flush door handles and 17-inch dual-tone aero alloy wheels. Customers can also opt for a 16-inch wheel option depending on the variant.Inside, the Syros EV gets a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display Panel that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 5-inch climate control display. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Kia Connect 2.0 with over 95 connected features, Over-the-Air updates, a Harman Kardon 8-speaker audio system, ventilated front and rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, a 4-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, a smart dashcam and a trunk front 16.On the safety front, the Syros EV is equipped with Level 2 ADAS that offers 16 autonomous driving functions, including Front Collision Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Following Assist. It also gets six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Vehicle Stability Management, Hill-start Assist, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, 360-degree camera, Blind View Monitor and a total of 25 standard safety features.The Syros EV will be available in seven variants with two battery options. Kia will offer the electric SUV in nine exterior colors along with several interior themes. Pricing is still to be confirmed.
