Cricket Ireland has confirmed that the two T20Is against India will start at 1:30 pm local time (6:00 pm IST), an hour earlier than the usual start time for T20 internationals in India. The decision was taken to reduce the scheduling conflict of India’s crucial Women’s T20 World Cup clash against Australia on June 28.

The Women’s World Cup fixture influenced the scheduling decision

India Women, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, are set to take on Australia in a high-stakes Women’s T20 World Cup encounter at Lord’s on Sunday. The match is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm IST, which would have completely overlapped with the second men’s T20I between India and Ireland if the traditional start time had been retained. To address the issue, Cricket Ireland has brought the start of two T20Is at the same time, ensuring that fans can follow a larger portion of both matches.

The broadcasters agreed to change the season

According to Cricbuzz, Cricket Ireland, the organizers of the games, scheduled for Friday (June 26) and Sunday (June 28), are understood to have discussed the matter with their Indian media partner, Sony Sports. In an ideal scenario, the broadcaster would have preferred a 7 pm IST start for the T20Is in India, but Sony Sports is believed to have agreed to the revised time to cut the match, albeit only partially.
