Hyundai Bayon SUV spied with Maruti Victoris: Details
Hyundai Motor India is continuously testing the upcoming Hyundai Bayon SUV. This time, the upcoming SUV has been spied alongside the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, giving us an idea of its proportions. The Bayon appears more compact than the 4.3-meter long Victoris. Visual comparisons also suggest a shorter wheelbase, while its alloy wheels appear to be smaller in diameter than those fitted to the Victoris.Hyundai is gearing up to introduce two new SUVs for the Indian market. Codenamed BC4, and at this stage, Hyundai has not officially confirmed the positioning of the upcoming Bayon-based SUV. While some reports suggest that it will be a sub-four-metre offering aimed at rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Toyota Taisor and Nissan Magnite, other reports indicate that it could measure over four meters in length and slot in between the Venue and Creta in Hyundai’s SUV portfolio. Until Hyundai reveals the official details, the exact part and position of the SUV remains unclear.

Design-wise, the front end of the Bayon features a split-headlamp layout similar to the current Venue, with slim LED daytime running lamps placed above the main headlight units. Previous glimpses abroad also revealed black bumper cladding, front parking sensors and a radar module, suggesting the presence of advanced driver assistance systems. The side profile has many styling cues from the international-spec Bayon. The window line, roof profile and the overall proportions appear similar to the global model, while the alloy wheels have a new design. Although the wheel size remains unconfirmed, the Bayon sold abroad is offered with up to 16-inch wheels. At the rear, the SUV continues with a split-lighting arrangement. The lower section is expected to house the main tail-lamp units, while the upper part can accommodate the indicators and reverse lamps. The test vehicle was also spotted with roof rails, rear parking sensors and a reverse camera. The interior of the standard model has not been photographed. However, a look abroad at the N Line version reveals a black cabin theme with contrasting details and adjustable headrests. The production model is expected to have the same layout, albeit with a different color scheme. Although Hyundai did not disclose the feature list, the SUV is likely to be equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, automatic climate control, wireless charging, and several safety features. Higher variants can also provide ADAS functions.Powertrain details remain unknown as well; it is expected that the SUV will be powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with a dual-cylinder CNG option at the factory. And again, a 1.0-liter turbo gasoline engine is expected.Image: Reddit/rCarsIndia
