NEW DELHI: The Center has created a separate category for Ex-Agniveers in the recruitment of Constables (General Duty) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) and Rifleman posts in the Assam Rifles. The new provisions include reservation of 50 percent vacancies, age relaxation and exemptions at various stages of the recruitment process.The information was shared by Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha. The advertisement outlines the recruitment benefits that will be available to Ex-Agniveers under the new category.Provisions for reservation and relaxation by ageAccording to the Home Ministry, Ex-Agniveers will be given reservation in 50 per cent of the vacancies for the notified posts of Constable (General Duty) in CAPF and Rifleman in Assam Rifles.The government has also provided a relaxation of three years in the prescribed age limit for Ex-Agniveer candidates. Also, candidates belonging to the first batch of Ex-Agniveers will be entitled to a relaxation of five years beyond the prescribed age limit.Exemptions in the hiring processThe new recruitment policy also grants Ex-Agniveers exemption from Physical Standards Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and written examination for these posts.The Ministry stated that these provisions have been introduced under the newly created Ex-Agniveer category in the CAPF and Assam Rifles recruitment process.Dedicated wing established under MHAThe Ministry of Home Affairs has also established a dedicated Ex-Agniveer Wing to coordinate the progression of Ex-Agniveers.According to the written reply, the first batch of Agniveers is yet to complete its commitment period.
