He revealed that even his ex-wife Reena Dutta, Kiran Raoand Gauri Spratt did not convert to Islam. He said in an interview with Deccan Chronicle, “Gauri, Reena and Kiran did not change their religions after marrying me, because we had civil marriages,” he said. “Gauri is not a Hindu, she is a Christian, and even if she is not a regular Christian at that.”Emphasizing the differences between his family, he said in the same interview, “Well, the truth is that our family is very united.” He added: “All my sisters are married to Hindus, and my daughter is also married to a Hindu.” My cousin Mansoor married a Christian.”For those who don’t know, as reported by ANI, Maulana Ibrahim Hussain said that Aamir and Gauri’s marriage is illegal under his interpretation of Islamic law, saying that a Muslim man cannot marry a non-Muslim woman unless he accepts Islam. In a video that has surfaced online, he said, “Muslim mard ke liye, iman walon ke liye, gair muslim se shaadi karna haraam hai.”The pastor also said that Muslims who marry non-Muslim women are committing a sin and such marriages are considered *haraam*. He added that those who refuse to recognize that it is a sin, will ultimately answer to Allah.Commenting on many marriages and divorces, the Maulana said that such practice cannot be accepted. He also said that a person who is unable to fulfill the responsibilities of another family fairly should not join another family. Referring to Aamir specifically, he said, “This question is about filmmaker Aamir Khan. He has recently entered into a third marriage with a non-Muslim woman. In connection with this, we have also seen public protests.“Aamir married Reena Dutta in 1986, then actress Kiran Rao in 2005. He recently married Gauri Spratt in a private ceremony held on July 5, 2026, under the Special Marriage Act.The recent marriage of the actors caused criticism from Maulana Ibrahim Hussain, Shahi Chief Mufti of the Muslim Personal Darul Ifta, who said that the marriage does not allow his interpretation of Sharia because Gauri is not a Muslim.
