Punjab Teachers Recruitment 2026: Directorate of School Education, Directorate of Recruitment, Punjab has issued a short notification for Punjab Teacher Recruitment 2026, announcing 1013 vacancies for Teacher Posts in Government Schools. The recruitment includes 829 regular vacancies and 184 pending vacancies in various subjects. A detailed notification containing complete recruitment guidelines is scheduled to be issued on 23 June 2026.The recruitment campaign aims to fill teacher positions in language, arts, commerce and science disciplines. Online applications will be accepted through designated recruitment portals after publication of detailed notification. Vacancies have been announced by subjectThe vacancies are distributed in 12 subjects covering the fields of language, arts, commerce and science. History has the highest number of publications, followed by English and political science.
Eligibility and selection processApplicants must have master’s degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university with at least 55 percent marks. Some places also require a minimum of 50 percent marks at graduation level. Candidates qualified by UGC NET or PSTET will be given preference while PhD candidates may be given additional weightage during merit preparation.Candidates must have passed Punjabi up to Matric level. The established age limit is 18 to 37 years.The written exam and interview will determine the final selection. As per the above recruitment pattern, the exam will assess Punjabi, English, Teaching Aptitude, Mathematics, General Knowledge and subject concerned.
