In a heartfelt speech, the actress spoke about the role of yoga in her sister Rangoli Chandel’s recovery after her acid attack.Kangana had explained how this practice became a source of hope for her family at a very difficult time in their lives. According to the actress, yoga helped Rangoli regain her trust and connection with the world after many years of physical and mental difficulties.
After the long battle of Rangoli
Rangoli Chandel was only 21 years old when she suffered from acid attack. The incident left him badly injured and he required several surgeries over the years.Recalling the painful moment, Kangana wrote, “Rangoli has a very inspiring story of Yoga – on the side of the road Romeo threw acid on Rangoli when he was not yet 21 years old, he got third degree burns, half of his face was burnt, one eye was blind, one ear was melted and the breast was badly damaged, he had to go through 53-3 surgeries, but all my concern was 53-3. He stopped to speak, yes no matter what.” he would not say anything, he would just stare blankly at everything. [sic],”The actress revealed that although the doctors were focusing on Rangoli’s recovery, her mental well-being was a major concern for the family.
The family is struggling with the problem
Kangana explained that the attack affected all aspects of Rangoli’s life. She recalled how her sister had lost her composure and struggled to respond despite treatment and counseling.Explaining more, she wrote, “She was in a relationship with an Air Force officer and when she saw his face covered in acid she left and never came back, even though she didn’t shed tears or speak a word, the doctors told me she was scared, they gave her medicine and put her on medication to help her with mental illness but nothing helped. She has burns and mental injuries and I’m recovering from retinal damage and losing my sight,”The actress said she was very young at the time and was looking for ways to help her sister recover.
How yoga changed forever
According to Kangana, she started taking Rangoli to yoga classes. Over time, he began to see a positive change in his sister’s behavior and outlook.Describing the transformation, Kangana wrote, “I wanted him to talk to me, so I took him everywhere even to my Yoga classes. He started doing Yoga and I saw a big change in him. Not only did he start responding to his pain and my lame jokes but he also regained his lost vision in one eye… Is yoga the answer to every question you had?
