A player Shine Tom Chacko shared a strange reason for not watching his film ‘Dies Irae,’ directed by Rahul Sadasivan and titled Pranav Mohanlal.Although he was a part of the 2025 release, the actor deliberately stopped watching the movie because horror movies take a toll on his mind.Speaking in an interview with Movie World Media, Shine revealed that although he loves doing horror movies, watching them is very different.
Why Shine Tom Chacko stopped watching horror movies
During the interview, Shine explained that he stopped watching ghost movies years ago because it was distracting him for a long time.He said, “I stopped watching ghost movies. Ghost movies I used to watch when I was young. After Manichitrathazhu, the only one I watched was ‘Aakashaganga’. Watching horror movies affects me. But I have no problem doing things with them.”The actor confirmed that acting in a horror movie doesn’t bother him, but sitting down to watch it is something he likes to avoid.

Shine also explained why he had never seen Dies Irae, despite being involved in the project.He said, “I haven’t seen Dies Irae yet.”The actor also revealed that his performance in the film was different from his usual performances.“For Dies Irae, they took pictures of me. Then they made a mold using my body. I never went to the set of the film. I didn’t shoot anything, except the pictures and the body mold.”
He told Rahul Sadasivan that he will not watch the film
Even though the film received positive response from the audience, Shine said that he informed the director Rahul Sadasivan that he has no intention of watching it.He said: “When I heard that the film was getting great reviews, I told Rahul that I will not come to watch it.” I already stopped watching ghost movies. “According to the artist, his decision had nothing to do with the film, but everything to do with how terrible stories affect him personally.Although Shine admitted that scary movies make him happy, he also said that they leave him restless, especially when he is alone.He explained: “I really enjoy watching them. At first, when I watched movies like Evil Dead, I had this feeling. Because when I’m alone, I experience it alone. I think a ghost appears, I get scared, and I run alone. “He concluded by saying: “I can’t even invite someone to watch with me. No one will believe me. Or ask if I’m afraid of the dark.
