Delhi University (DU) has announced the schedule for the next phase of undergraduate admissions under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG) 2026, outlining the schedule for mid-entry admissions and the third round of seat allocation. In addition to the new admissions schedule, the university also reported that more than 71,000 candidates have already confirmed their degree admissions for the 2026-27 academic session.With the latest notification, there is another chance for the candidates who have not availed the previous admission rounds or who want to apply for future rounds along with the guidelines for hall quota admissions and seat upgrades.
DU publishes schedule for ward quota allocation and seat upgrades
As per the official schedule, the revised allotment and first ward quota allotment list will be uploaded on CSAS UG 2026 portal on 1st August.After the publication of the list of awards, the verification and confirmation of the applications of the candidates will proceed until August 3. Admitted candidates must pay admission fees by August 4.The university suggests the candidates to keep themselves informed about the admission related procedures on the admission portal.
Third round seat allotment on August 8
The third round of CSAS UG 2026 counseling will begin with the release of the seat allotment list on August 8. Candidates who are allotted seats in Round 3 will have to accept their allotments between August 8 and August 11 (11:59 PM). Once the acceptance period closes, colleges will verify and approve applications by August 12.The final deadline for payment of admission fee for 3rd round candidates has been fixed as 13th August (11:59 PM).The third round is expected to fill a significant number of vacant undergraduate places in various universities and programs after the completion of the first two rounds of admissions.
Intermediate registrations will begin on August 3rd
To accommodate students who could not participate in the previous rounds of admissions, DU will open the mid-entry registration window from August 3.The registration process will remain open until August 5 (11:59 p.m.). Candidates who have not registered during Round I or Round II or have not been able to complete the admission process despite registration will be eligible to participate by paying an additional average entry fee of Rs.1000/-.The university said the mid-entry provision has been introduced to ensure that eligible candidates are not left out of the admissions process due to missed deadlines or incomplete applications.
Average entry is not available for certain categories
In its notification issued on July 29, DU clarified that the medium entry facility will not be available for admissions under various special categories and program-specific quotas.These include:
- Quota of extracurricular activities (ECA).
- Sports fee
- Child/Widow Quota (CW).
- Neighborhood supernumerary quota
- Performance-based programs such as BA (Hons) Music and BSc (Physical Education, Health Education and Sports)
- Practical-based Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program
Candidates applying for admission under these categories will have to follow the admission process laid down separately by the university.
DU admissions are over 71,000 marks
The university has also registered strong progress in this year’s admission cycle. As of 6:30 p.m. on July 29, a total of 71,342 students had confirmed their undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session.Among them, 25,088 candidates exercised the “Upgrade” option, indicating their willingness to be considered for a higher preference college or program in future rounds.Meanwhile, 32,233 students selected the ‘Freeze’ option after the second round, indicating that they were satisfied with their allotted college and course and did not want to participate in further seat allocation rounds.The figures suggest that while a substantial number of students have secured their preferred admissions, thousands are still looking for better academic options through the remaining counseling rounds.
The academic session is already underway
The undergraduate academic session for the academic year 2026-27 began on July 28, with Delhi University colleges conducting orientation programs for newly admitted students.Candidates participating in the upcoming admission rounds or opting for mid-entry can access the latest admission related notifications, timings and updates through the university’s official CSAS UG admission portal.
