The first trailer of Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Ramayana’ has finally been unveiled, giving the audience their first glimpse. Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Yash as Ravana, and Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita. While the look and feel of the film has created a lot of confusion, some absences have become a major issue among fans. Sunny Deolwho is named as Lord Hanuman. As soon as the trailer dropped, social media users started asking why the veteran actor was not seen in the promotional video.

Why is Lord Hanuman not present in the trailer

Although the makers have not commented on Sunny Deol’s disappearance, the epic story offers a possible solution. According to Valmiki Ramayana, Lord Hanuman enters the story after Sita Haran, when he meets Lord Rama and Lakshmana near Mount Rishyamukha in search of Sita.Reports say that ‘Ramayana: Part One’ may end around Sita Haran’s role. If that were the case, Hanuman’s role would be more prominent in the second episode rather than the first. However, the producers have not confirmed that the First Phase ends.At the recent trailer launch event, Sunny Deol spoke briefly about his experience after joining the project. The actor revealed that he had just started the production of the film. His statement has also fueled the speculation that major parts of Lord Hanuman may be preserved in Ramayana: Part Two.

Celebrities appreciated the trailer

While fans were arguing about Hanuman’s absence, many celebrities shared their enthusiasm for the trailer. Among the first to respond was Bhumi Pednekar, who posted the trailer on her Instagram Stories and wrote, “This is great. I’m really looking forward to watching this. Ramayana will be a national show.”Actor Naveen Polishetty, who earlier collaborated with director Nitesh Tiwari on ‘Chhichhore’, also praised the filmmaker, saying, “Epic. What a journey for this film. Mad respect @niteshtiwari22 sir.” The trailer has also received praises from several other film companies including Karan Johar.

Plans to release ‘Ramayana’ are Sunny Deol’s next film

Sunny Deol will next be seen in Batwara 1947, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, which is scheduled to release in theaters on August 14, 2026.Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Ramayana’ stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Sunny Deol, Ravie Dubey, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoiand others in important positions. The epic is planned as a two-part movie, with Part One hitting theaters in Diwali 2026 and Part Two slated for Diwali 2027.
