While fans were left disappointed after the much-anticipated wait ‘Ramayana‘ trailer, visitors to San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026 say they experienced an unforgettable surprise. A video that is going viral on the internet claims that the people who attended, mostly from India who came from India, received gifts from the makers of the film. However, the authenticity of the clip has not been independently verified.According to the video, the recipients received a pink display box with the Prime Focus logo on it. Inside was a leaflet from the ‘Ramayana’ team along with a golden colored conch shell wrapped in a soft cloth. The decorative ornament has elaborate designs inspired by the epic ‘Ramayana’. After the meeting, the video quickly went viral on social media, with fans speculating if the memo was shared by the film’s team.
The trailer of ‘Ramayana’ was shelved after its appearance at SDCC
Players Ranbir Kapoor and Yashalong with producer Namit Malhotra, represented ‘Ramayana’ at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. The trailer of the film was scheduled to be released on July 24 at 8 am IST, but the launch was postponed.Explaining the decision, Malhotra said, “Today is a very special moment for our Ramayana. My dream of taking Ramayana to the world has now come true with our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment. As per the above, we will be launching our trailer globally after that.He added: “In the 100+ years of Indian cinema, this will be the proudest moment when Ramayana will be shown globally like any other major Hollywood film. This is unique because it opens up an opportunity for people around the world to recognize the richness of our culture and our stories with pride and passion.”Although the makers have not mentioned the reason, the statement came amid student protests across the country over the alleged NEET controversy. Reports suggest that the trailer could arrive between July 29 and July 31, but no official confirmation has been given.
‘Ramayana’ first preview and leaks online
Before heading to SDCC, the makers held a special screening at the Pratham Sankalp event in Delhi on July 18. Following the preview, several trailers of ‘Ramayana’ have surfaced online. None of these leaked clips have been confirmed by the manufacturers. Meanwhile, two versions of the trailer have reportedly received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The star-studded cast of ‘Ramayana’ brings joy
Directed on a grand scale, ‘Ramayana’ stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita, while Yash plays Ravana. Sunny Deol plays the role of Lord Hanuman, Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman, and Lara Dutta appears as Kaikeyi.The cast also includes Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari, Arun Govil as King Dashrath, Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjihva, Kunal Kapoor as Lord Indra, and Adinath Kothare as Bharata. Veteran actor Anupam Kher is lending voice to Jatayu.
