He said goodbye to the screens and cameras after his wife, Ann Belsky, died of breast cancer. After last appearing in ‘Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves’ in 1997, he has taken on various voice acting roles over the years, on PEOPLE.

Explaining how the idea for the sequel came about, Rick star Josh Gad revealed that they originally wanted to discuss a reboot of ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’. “The truth is that I had to say yes to this thing. That’s the only way I could get Josh Gad to stop texting me,” said Moranis on the panel, before adding, “We kept talking about it. I actually wasn’t retired; I was just talking. But no, this came at the right time, and I started talking to these people and hearing who they are.“
