Tamil film producer and actor R Chezhiyan passed away on Friday at the age of 57. His death sent shockwaves through the Tamil film industry as many stars and fans expressed their grief after learning the news. A player Vijay Sethupathi he mourned the loss of Chezhiyan.

He has also been praised for inspiring young filmmakers through his activities and writings.According to reports, Chezhiyan was undergoing cancer treatment at a private hospital in Taramani, Chennai. He died fighting the disease for a long time.
