TNPSC announces 839 Diploma and ITI vacancies including posts in Rural Development Department

TNPSC CTS 2026 Notification: Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) has issued the Combined Technical Services (CTS) Examination 2026 (Diploma/ITI Level) notification announcing the recruitment of 839 vacancies in 56 technical posts in various departments of the state government. The online application process will start on July 17 and will last until August 15.The recruitment drive includes vacancies in departments like Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Agriculture, Public Works, Roads and Employment and Training. The written exam is tentatively scheduled to take place on September 20, 2026.The Rural Development Department has most of the vacanciesAmong the advertised posts, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department has a significant number of vacancies. The commission has notified 149 vacancies for the post of Road Inspector and 129 vacancies for Supervisor or Junior Writing Officer of the department.Other prominent posts include 119 posts of junior training officer in the Department of Employment and Training, 110 posts of assistant director of agriculture in the Department of Agriculture and 101 posts of junior drafting officer in the Water Resources wing of the Department of Public Works.Eligibility and selection processCandidates applying for recruitment must possess Diploma, Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate, National Trade Certificate (NTC) or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in relevant engineering or technical discipline as per the post.The selection process will consist of a written examination followed by a document verification. TNPSC has stated that there will be no interview for these Diploma and ITI level technical posts.Application calendarAccording to the notification, the recruitment process started with the publication of the notification on July 7. The online application window will open on July 17 and close at 11:59 p.m. on August 15.Eligible candidates will have to submit their applications through TNPSC online exam portal after the registration link is active. Candidates are advised to verify the educational qualifications, eligibility conditions and post specific requirements mentioned in the official notification before submitting their application forms.The commission will conduct the written exam on September 20, in accordance with the published exam calendar.
