The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) is expected to declare the Class 10th (SSLC), Class 11 and Class 12 (HSC) supplementary examination results on the official website, tnresults.nic.in. The results are likely to be released in the last week of July, after which students will be able to download their provisional mark sheets from the official portals. Supplementary examinations are an important opportunity for students who have failed to clear one or more subjects in the annual board examinations. On July 22, 2026, the DGE already announced the results of the supplementary tests for private candidates. Once announced, students can check their results from the official Tamil Nadu result site and from the DGE site. Apart from the sites, the provisional results will be available through DigiLocker and SMS facilities so that students have multiple ways to check their results.Students must bring their roll number and date of birth to avoid any delay in checking the results once the result links are activated.Every year, those students who have not been able to pass the court exams in one or more subjects take supplementary exams. Supplementary exams give candidates a chance to perform better in the future.This year, the class 12 supplementary exams were held from June 29 to July 7, 2026. On the other hand, the class 10 exams were held from July 8 to 15 and the subsequent class 11 exams were held from July 8 to 16.

Passing criteria that students must know
To pass the supplementary exam, students must obtain at least 35 points out of 100 in each subject.For those subjects that have a practical exam, candidates must obtain a minimum of 15 points in the theory exam as well as the overall passing grade set by the court.The DGE is supposed to distribute the original physical mark sheets through the schools from July 30, 2026. Those candidates who clear the supplementary exams will be eligible to participate in additional admission procedures, which include additional counseling sessions of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA).
