Tata Sierra EV teased again: Trying to get the rare feat!
Tata Motors is building up the excitement around the upcoming Sierra EV, which is scheduled to make its debut in India on June 30. Tel Moreeb stands more than 300 meters high with an inclination of about 50 degrees, Tel Moreeb is considered one of the highest sand dunes in the world. If the teaser is anything to go by, Tata is trying to prove that the Sierra EV can combine everyday use with true off-road capability. The teaser also offers another look at the production-spec Sierra EV. While the overall silhouette remains similar to the ICE version, the electric version gets several EV-specific styling updates. Up front, the traditional grille makes way for a body-colored closed-off panel that stretches across the nose. A connected LED DRL sits above the main headlamp units, while vertically mounted LED fog lamps are also seen.At the rear, the Sierra EV gets a full-width LED light bar, rugged bumper cladding and a silver skid plate. One of the biggest highlights confirmed in the latest teaser is Tata’s Quad Wheel Drive (QWD) technology. The dual-motor AWD setup is expected to be reserved for the higher variants, while the lower trims are likely to get a single-motor configuration. On the inside, the Sierra EV is expected to be positioned as one of Tata Motors’ most premium electric offerings. Lower variants may have a dual-screen setup, while higher trims may get a triple-screen layout similar to the ICE-powered Sierra. Expected features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, powered tailgate and 360-degree camera. Tata may also offer connected car technology, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a 12-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos support. The Sierra EV is expected to sit between the Curvv EV and Harrier EV in Tata’s electric vehicle portfolio. Multiple battery pack options are likely, including 55 kWh and 65 kWh units, while top-end variants may borrow the larger 75 kWh battery pack from the Harrier EV. Tata may also extend its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program to the Sierra EV, allowing customers to purchase the vehicle separately from the battery and choose a subscription-based battery plan.Once launched, the Sierra EV will take on rivals like the Mahindra BE 6, Hyundai Creta Electric and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
