“We kept our relationship secret for a long time, about eight or nine months,” Blanco said in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El País. He then revealed an important story that he had announced before making it public. “And he asked me, ‘Are you sure you want to do this? And I said, ‘You know what? Why not.’ We are lucky because we all have friends and family that we have known for a long time, and we are surrounded by a good group of people that we love,” he recalled.
The importance of the Selena Gomez question
Blanco explained that Gomez’s question about going public came from feelings about her fame. Gomez, who rose to fame as a teenager on the Disney Channel series, has built up a wide range of work ranging from television, film and music. He recently received a Grammy nomination for Best Dance-Pop Recording for his collaboration with Blanco on the song “Bluest Flame.” Beyond her singing career, Gomez has become the most Emmy-nominated Latina in history, and has been nominated multiple times for her work in television production and appearances in various projects.

After that, the two decided to make their relationship official – and, at the end of the day, they got married on September 27, 2025, almost two years after announcing their love.

Blanco, who has worked behind the scenes for years, spoke about his struggles with social media and his privacy while talking about the public attention he has received over the years from his life. “I don’t like to reveal my life,” he told El País. “Famous people are always watching: if you say one thing, it’s wrong, and if you say something else, it’s also wrong.”The 12-time Grammy Award nominee admitted that it’s difficult to keep things private in today’s entertainment world. “I want to have more privacy,” he said, noting that he’s “that changing generation where social media didn’t exist when I was a kid.” He explained the method he is currently using on social media as a choice and a strategy. “Sometimes I choose to post a picture of my wife or a delicious meal I’ve tried,” he said, focusing on his music ads.
Upcoming projects beyond the album
The single is expected to be released on August 14, marking the start of a busy period in Blanco’s career. About a month after the album’s release, his biography-meets-self-help book ‘F–k Failure’ will be published on September 15.
