Recruitment of RRB technicians 2026: registration for 6,565 grade I and III posts begins tomorrow; check how to apply
The Railway Contracting Boards (RRBs) will start online registration process for technician recruitment 2026 from 30th June 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for 6565 posts of Signal Technician Grade I and Technician Grade III through RRB official application portal.The recruitment has been announced through the Centralized Employment Notification (CEN) no. 02/2026 of the Ministry of Railways. Candidates can submit their application forms till 29th July 2026.
Details of the vacancy
As per the official notification, a total of 6,565 posts will be filled through this recruitment drive. Of these:
- 323 vacancies are for Grade I Signal Technician.
- 6,242 vacancies are for Grade III Technician.
Candidates applying for the Signal Technician I degree must have a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree or diploma in the relevant field. For Technician Grade III Posts, applicants must have passed Class 10 along with an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) certificate in the required trade.
age limit
Age limit will be calculated from 1st July 2026 onwards.
- Technician grade I signal: From 18 to 33 years
- Technician grade III: From 18 to 30 years
Age relaxation will be provided to reserved category candidates as per Govt.
Application fee
Candidates belonging to General, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) categories will have to pay an application fee of Rs.500.For candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PWD) categories, the application fee is Rs.250.The fee can be paid through online application portal only.
Selection process
The selection process includes:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Document verification
- Medical review
Candidates who qualify in each phase will be considered for final selection in accordance with the rules of the Railway Procurement Board.

Candidates can follow these steps to submit their application:
- Visit the official RRB application portal.
- Register using the required details.
- Fill the online application form carefully.
- Enter your Aadhaar details and make sure it matches your class 10 records.
- Upload the required documents and photographs.
- Pay the application fee online.
- Submit the application form and download the confirmation page for future reference.
Candidates can apply for only one railway recruitment board for each pay level. Only one application per pay level will be accepted, and submission of multiple applications for the same pay level may result in rejection.Applicants are also advised to verify their Aadhaar details before submitting the application to avoid any mismatch during the recruitment process.The schedule of computer based tests will be announced later by the Railway Recruitment Boards through the official website.
