Re-NEET UG 2026 Result: NTA Says Announcement Before July 20 - Report
Re-NEET UG Result by July 20; academic session to start on time: NTA official

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has confirmed that the re-NEET UG 2026 exam result will be declared on July 20. While the agency has not announced an exact date, a senior NTA official said that work is being carried out on a war footing to release the results at the earliest, ANI reported. The official also assured the students that the delay caused by the re-examination will not affect the commencement of the MBBS academic session. The re-NEET UG exam was held on June 21 after the May 3 exam, conducted by more than 20 lakh candidates, was canceled due to alleged paper leak allegations.“We would not like to give any date as of now, but the result will be released on July 20. Normally, the results are announced within 45 days of the exam, but this time, as we have conducted the exam in 37 days, we will announce the results much earlier,” the official said. The provisional answer key was released on June 25 and candidates could file objections till June 28. According to the official, the aspirants filed about 10,000 challenges. Now the agency is going through all the objections before preparing the final answer key and result.“We have to scan all the challenges one by one, examine the supporting evidence and respond to each of them,” the official added. The NTA also said that despite the re-examination, the MBBS academic session will begin as scheduled. However, the counseling schedule has not been announced yet.Once the NEET UG result is declared, the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will release the counseling schedule for 15% All India Quota (AIQ), AIIMS, JIPMER, Central Universities and Deemed Universities. The state authorities will announce the counseling timings for the remaining 85% state quota seats separately.During counseling, candidates have to register online, pay the counseling fee and fill their preferred colleges and courses. Seats are allotted based on NEET rank, category, reservation rules, preferences and seat availability. Candidates who get a seat have to report to their allotted college for document verification and admission. The counseling process is usually done in various rounds, including Round 1, Round 2, Clearing Round and Lost Vacancy Round, before the new academic session begins.Meanwhile, some states including Tamil Nadu have already started admission preparatory processes while waiting for the NEET UG result.
