Following the Q and A session, the group came together to take selfies with the audience, photos that are now trending on social media.The group was spotted by Coy Jandreau, who later shared selfies with the group on social media. Expressing his excitement at the event, Jandreau wrote, “Honored to host the #Ramayana team yesterday at #SDCC in Ballroom 20 with these legends! #Yash, #RanbirKapoor, Namit Malhotra and Nitesh Tiwari were as amazing (and kind) as I could imagine. The trailer is amazing, I can’t wait for you all to see it.The Comic-Con appearance came hours after producer Namit Malhotra announced a major global distribution deal with Sony Pictures Entertainment, which will handle the film’s global distribution outside of India. Speaking about the collaboration, Malhotra said in a statement, “Our aim has always been to honor that legacy while creating a cinema suitable for audiences everywhere.” He added, “Partnering with Sony Pictures gives Ramayana an incredible opportunity to connect with a global audience and introduce this timeless story to film lovers around the world.”According to industry reports, Sony’s tie-up will see the promoter fund the film’s global promotion. Reports suggest that the company has contributed around $25 million (around Rs 235 crore) to the film’s promotion, while the makers are expected to contribute another $15 million (around Rs 140 crore). Together, the combined marketing budget is estimated at USD 40 million (around Rs 375 crore).Including the production and production cost, ‘Ramayana: Part I’ is said to be budgeted at Rs 1,400-1,500 crore. It’s Part Two is expected to bring in a similar amount, making it one of the most expensive Indian cinema productions.In a post on Instagram, the producer said the partnership is an important part of Indian storytelling. “This is special because it opens the door for people around the world to recognize the richness of our culture and our stories with pride and interest.”‘Ramayana: Part One’ is targeting a Diwali 2026 release. The release date of the film is still awaited. Meanwhile, reports say the film is eyeing a November 8 release.
