Perspectives on the distribution of world leaders Nitesh Tiwari‘s coming epic’Ramayana‘ has come to a head after Consul General of India in Los Angeles, Dr KJ Srinivasa, spoke about the film in a discussion at the Indian Film Festival in Los Angeles. The discussion took place after Digital producer Sabeen Faheem shared a video of her performance on social media. Along with the video, he wrote, “It’s time for Indian films to be respected around the world!” He added, “This year we talked about the impact of Indian films. We also talked about the importance of South Asian media in America and how we can be THE BRIDGE for better understanding and respect.”During the discussion, Dr. Srinivasa spilled the beans on the growing global interest in Indian cinema and recalled the response to ‘Ramayana’ at CinemaCon earlier this year. He shared, “What we have found is that there is already a customer for Indian films, but there is a lack of education about what India represents, and what India can do. I think that is where we need the help of media like you, to educate people on both sides of the continent’s borders. Indian cinema has been changing the world, and now is the time to mend our relationship with Hollywood. “ Regarding the interest of companies in ‘Ramayana’ at the event, he added, “At Cinema Con, I realized that this is something that attracts Hollywood producers to have the opportunity to meet people who came to see how they can promote Ramayana. There were people there, producers, advertisers, but at the same time, people from all over the world, famous directors like James Cameron were there.”When asked directly about the rumors that Warner Bros. Images can share the Ramayana around the world, Dr Srinivasa said, “Not really, because you know, they don’t want to…”Although there has been no official announcement from the filmmakers or Warner Bros. As for the film’s global distribution, industry chatter has been going on since ‘Ramayana’ appeared at CinemaCon, which also played host to several major films including ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, ‘The Odyssey’ and ‘Dune: Part 3’, among many other films.‘Ramayana’ stars Ranbir Kapoor like Lord Rama, Yash if Ravana is Sai Pallavi like Sita. The film also features music by Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman. The first look of the film which was released earlier this year has created quite a stir, with fans eagerly awaiting updates on its trailer and other promotional material which is rumored to be released this month. Buzz is that the film will also launch its content during ComicCon, which will take place between July 23 and July 26.
