In a recent interview, the couple revisited the early days of their romance, revealing how a simple Twitter exchange in 2016 blossomed into one of Hollywood’s most beloved relationships. The two talked about their first conversation on the July 14 episode of “Hey Jonas”, where Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas happily read their old messages when Priyanka and Nick sat hand in hand, laughing and reminiscing. Meanwhile, Priyanka also shared Nick’s request after she switched from Twitter DMs to text messages, asking him to confirm that he was really single by sending a photo.Their story began when Kevin Jonas asked Nick if he had watched ‘Quantico’, the ABC drama starring Priyanka Chopra between 2015 and 2018. Although Nick admitted that he had never seen the show, seeing Priyanka on the show board piqued his interest and made him reach out. Joe Jonas then read aloud Nick’s first direct message to Priyanka on Twitter.“Hello. I have heard from several people that we are going to meet. I have to agree with these people.. Are you in LA soon?” read Nick’s first message to Priyanka. At that time, his close friend Graham Rogers had already introduced Nick to Priyanka. In response to his message, he said to continue the conversation away from social media. “Hey.. Graham told me a lot about you.. Let’s send a message. Private. My team can access this.“The two then exchanged phone numbers and continued texting. Remembering what they discussed earlier, Kevin Jonas asked Nick to reveal the first message he sent to Priyanka’s number. Nick jokingly dodged the request, saying, “You don’t see that one.” Priyanka, however, revealed what happened next, explaining that Nick wanted to prove that he was texting her and not a pretender.“I’ll tell you what the first letter was. He wanted to prove it was me. So he asked me for a picture right away looking into the camera with a time stamp. I was like ‘this guy is already in love with me’. But I appreciate it too,” said Priyanka.The couple also shared that although they first got together in 2016, they didn’t start dating until about a year and a half later.
