Nissan Tekton scores 5 stars in BNCAP crash test ahead of global debut: Details

Ahead of its official debut in India, Nissan’s all-new Tekton has already achieved the highest five-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP). The certification appeared on the BNCAP portal ahead of the SUV’s launch, putting its crash safety credentials in the spotlight even before Nissan unveiled the model. The same listing also offers the first clear look at the Tekton’s exterior design, effectively revealing the SUV ahead of schedule.

The Nissan Tekton scored 30.49 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP). It scored 14.49 out of 16 in the Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test and a full 16 out of 16 in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test. In Child Occupant Protection (COP), the SUV received 45 out of 49 points. It scored a maximum of 24 out of 24 in the dynamic test and 12 out of 12 for the installation of the Child Restraint System (CRS), while getting 9 out of 13 in the vehicle evaluation category. The BNCAP listing also revealed the Tekton’s exterior design ahead of its official unveiling.
