MTET Hall Ticket 2026 is released as candidates prepare for the July 24 Teacher Eligibility Exam in Meghalaya

Entrance to the MTET 2026 hall: Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT), Meghalaya has released the Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) Admit Card 2026 for the registered candidates. The hall tickets were issued on 10th July 2026, ahead of the state level eligibility exam scheduled on 24th July 2026. Candidates can download their admit cards from DERT official portal by logging in with their registration or application number and password.MTET 2026 will be conducted in offline, pencil and paper mode and will include two papers. Paper I is meant for candidates seeking eligibility to teach classes I to V, while paper II is for those seeking to teach classes VI to VIII. Candidates have been advised to download and print their hall tickets well before the exam day.Steps to download hall ticketCandidates must visit the official website of DERT Meghalaya and open the admit card download link available on the home page. After entering their registration or application number and password, they can submit the details to access the admit card.Once the document appears on the screen, candidates will need to download the PDF and take a clear printout for use on the day of the exam. The department has also made the admit card available through the Meghalaya Education Portal.Revised exam calendarThe MTET 2026 exam was originally scheduled for May 29, 2026, but was postponed after Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma announced the change because many active teachers were assigned national census and special intensive review duties.As per the revised schedule, the admit card was released on July 10, 2026, while the exam will now be held on July 24, 2026. The result is expected to be announced in August 2026. Exam pattern and support facilitiesThe exam will be held in two sessions, with paper I usually in the morning and test II in the afternoon. As per the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) guidelines adopted by the Meghalaya education department, the MTET qualification certificate will be valid for life.Candidates facing technical issues while downloading the admit card can seek assistance through DERT email helpdesk or visit the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) center or DERT Shillong office with the acknowledgment slip to get a hard copy.
