The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) cell has extended the last date for online registration under the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for engineering degree admissions for the academic session 2026-27 to July 16, 2026. The extension comes after authorities resolved a technical issue that had prevented several candidates from getting their JEE Main percentile scores through DigiLocker while submitting their applications. The CAP registration process started on July 2, 2026 and admissions are being conducted based on the performance of candidates in MHT-CET 2026 or JEE Main 2026.
Failure to match names in DigiLocker resulted in scoring errors
According to the CET Cell, the JEE Main percentile scores of the candidates are being retrieved directly from DigiLocker as per the instructions issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA).However, several applicants encountered technical difficulties as the names appearing on their JEE Main score cards did not exactly match the names registered in their DigiLocker accounts. As a result, the system could not automatically fetch the JEE Main percentile scores during the online application process. The CET Cell said it coordinated with the NTA to resolve the issue, allowing affected candidates to access and import their JEE Main scores through the CAP portal.
Candidates are advised to complete the pending applications
Candidates who were earlier unable to get their JEE Main percentile scores have been directed to log into the CAP portal, retrieve their scores and complete the application process before the revised deadline. The authorities have also given a chance to applicants who had already confirmed their CAP applications without including JEE Main percentile scores. These candidates can now unlock their applications, look for missing scores and make the necessary corrections before resubmitting.
Separate process to unlock apps
The CET Cell has clarified that the procedure for unblocking applications will depend on the mode of document verification chosen by the candidate.Applicants whose forms have been verified through E-Scrutiny are required to submit a claim request on the portal to unblock their applications. Meanwhile, candidates whose documents have been verified through physical scrutiny will have to personally visit their respective Facilitation Centers (FCs) or Scrutiny Centers (SCs) to request for unblocking of their applications.
Merit list to include only complete applications
The CET Cell has urged all the affected candidates to complete the application submission or correction process within the extended deadline. It has warned that applications left incomplete after the stipulated date will not be considered while preparing the engineering admission merit list. Therefore, candidates have been advised to verify that all required details including JEE Main percentile scores, wherever applicable, have been updated correctly before the registration window closes on 16 July 2026.Here is the link in the official announcement for the extension of the TAC CET application deadline.
