Made-in-India Renault Duster export started in this country: Details

Renault India today announced that it has started exporting the made-in-India Renault Duster SUV, with the first shipment of 750 units sailing from Chennai to South Africa. The company said the shipment marks the start of its export program for the new-generation Duster, with plans to expand exports to more international markets in the coming months. The milestone also highlights the growing importance of India within Renault Group’s global manufacturing and export operations.The new Renault Duster is offered in five variants – real, evolution, techno, techno plus and iconic, with prices ranging from Rs 10.29 lakh to Rs 18.09 lakh (both prices ex-showroom). A starting price of Rs 10.29 lakh is available for customers who pre-book their cars by March 2026; after that, the standard price now starts from Rs 10.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Export of Renault Duster started

The Duster is offered with three engine options – a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 100 PS of power and 160 nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The other engine is a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol with 163 PS power and 280 nm torque mated to a 6-speed DCT or 6-speed manual. There is also a larger 1.8-liter powerful hybrid gasoline engine with 109 hp paired with a 49hp electric motor and a 20hp hybrid starter generator (HSG), paired with a 1.4kWh (280V) battery. Together, this configuration provides a combined system output of 160hp and 172Nm.Design-wise, Renault has introduced India-specific design changes to the new-generation Duster while maintaining the overall silhouette of the third-generation global model. The India-spec SUV gets newly designed headlamps with eyebrow-shaped LED daytime running lights that also act as turn indicators. It features a revised grille with prominent Duster badging, replacing the Renault logo, along with a front bumper that uses a protruding silver surround and pixel-style fog lamps.From the side, the Duster carries black cladding over the wheel arches and lower body, C-pillar-mounted rear door handles, and functional roof rails. At the rear, the triangular tail-lamp is connected to an LED light bar which is not seen in the global version. Additional changes include a roof-mount spoiler, a textured license plate housing and a black rear bumper with a silver insert.Moving to the interior, the Duster’s interior has been extensively redesigned for the Indian market. The India-spec version features a completely new dashboard design with a dual-screen layout, soft-touch surfaces and revised trim elements. The cabin uses silver accents and contrast green stitching, a dedicated button panel on the center console, a slide-adjustable front armrest with storage and more. Features include 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charger, dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, 6-way powered and ventilated front seats, 48-color ambient lighting, keyless entry and additional push button start/stop.
