Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has addressed criticism of Robert Downey Jr’s portrayal of Doctor Doom in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).The MCU boss, who was at the “Avengers: Doomsday” panel at Comic-Con, asked questions about the Thanos vs Doom conflict. Speaking about the criticism that RDJ’s Doctor Doom did not receive a slow build-up like Josh Brolin’s Thanos, Feige argued that the presence of the Mad Titan before “Avengers: Infinity War” was limited and that the so-called ‘build-up’ was in the heads of fans.

In an interview with Brandon Davis, Feige said, “The build-up of Thanos has been hanging over people’s heads for years. He sat in the chair at the end. And he yelled at Ronan on video briefly, it was like this. “Feige recalled how Thanos himself became an internet joke before Infinity War put him in the spotlight. “I remember the memes making fun of Thanos for just sitting on the throne… [with ‘Doomsday’].”

However, Feige’s portrayal caused a stir on social media, with many fans arguing that Thanos’ powers outlived his brief screen time. Slamming Feige, another fan wrote, “This is dumb as hell considering it’s called the ‘Infinity Saga’ because the plot of almost every movie involves Thanos’ plans/quest for the infinity stones. At this point destruction is like ‘yeah destruction is here.’‘”One fan argued that the character’s presence is felt in the Infinity Saga. does that show Dr. Doom aside from a post-credits appearance in last year’s underperforming Fantastic Four?
