The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has released the third round cutoff list for 2026 on its official website, josaa.nic.in. The cut off has been released in the form of opening and closing ranks for different institutes, branches and categories.Candidates who appeared in the counseling process can now check the third round cutoff to know the ranks in which admissions were offered in this round.The cut off has been released separately for different categories like Open, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disabilities (PwD).The third round cutoff includes admission ranks for Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) and Government Funded Technical Institutions (GFTIs).
How to check JoSAA Round 3 cut 2026
Candidates can follow these steps to download the cut-off list:
- Visit the official website of JoSAA at josaa.nic.in.
- Click on the Electronic Services tab.
- Select the Opening and Closing Rank 2026 link.
- Choose the institute, branch and seat category.
- Round 3 Cutoff List will appear on the screen.
- Download it and save it for future reference.
JoSAA Round 3 Counseling Schedule
Candidates who have been allotted seats in Round 3 will have to complete the admission process as per the following schedule:

What should candidates do next?
After round 3 seat allotment, candidates have to login to JoSAA counseling portal and respond to their allotted seat within the stipulated time.They can choose one of the following options:
- Freeze: Accept the allotted seat and do not participate in further rounds of counselling.
- Float: Accept the seat but remain eligible for a higher preferred pick in future rounds.
- Slide: Accept the allotted institute but look for a better course within the same institute in future rounds.
Candidates who decide to accept the allotted seat will also have to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF). The fee is Rs 30,000 for candidates belonging to Open and Other Backward Classes (OBC) categories, while candidates from reserved categories have to pay Rs 15,000.Candidates are advised to complete all admission formalities within the prescribed schedule to avoid cancellation of their allotted seat.
