Following the controversy over a 2012 scandal involving TV personality Courtney Stodden, former actor Jason Alexander recently donated money to a charity, according to recent reports. Earlier, the 66-year-old ‘Seinfeld’ actor issued a statement of apology to Stodden, expressing regret for his decision on the show.

A few days ago, Courtney Stodden wrote about Jason Alexander’s 2012 skit, in which he had to wear a red double-breasted dress in front of the camera at the age of 17 and was involved in a clear joke. Following his social media post about the incident and the public backlash, Alexander apologized to the actor and internet personality.Now, according to a new post shared by Stodden, the actor has donated thousands of dollars to Unchained at Last, a non-profit organization that works to end child marriage in the US. He shared by writing, “I want to sincerely thank him for choosing to turn his words into action. The answer is not about punishing people – it is about taking reasonable steps that will help create change. My hope has always been bigger than my story. If a difficult conversation can lead to real support for organizations that protect children and end child marriage, then something good can come from something so painful.”Commenting on how this should be the norm, Stodden added, “When harm is acknowledged, meaningful action has the power to help others. That’s how real change begins.” He then asked other people to be encouraged by what the expert did and to donate money to help end child marriage in the country.

In 2012, when Stodden was 17 years old, she and her husband, Hutchison, were invited to a skit show called ‘The Donny Clay Show with Courtney Stodden.’ During the installation, Alexander played a daytime TV doctor talking to her and her husband at the time. In another scene, the actor rubbed the phone on his chest and said that there were “a lot” of signals coming from there; however, after doing the same to his head, he said that he could not receive any signal from there. Sharing a photo from the skit, Stodden called the artist, along with all the adults who were part of the show and let it happen.Her note said, “I was young. I did not have the legal authority to participate if I wanted to participate. The contracts were signed by the authorities”, adding that the money did not even go to her, and instead was transferred to her husband.For the uninitiated, Courtney Stodden married David Hutchison when she was only 16, at the age of 51, after her parents approved the union. They lived together until 2017, when they legally separated, and finalized their divorce in 2020. Since then, Stodden has been a strong advocate for ending child marriages across the country and has been a public supporter of various organizations working in the same way.
