Thalapathy Vijay‘s ‘Jana Nayagan’ entered its opening weekend on a slow note after enjoying a strong opening weekend at the box office. The film crossed Rs 200 crore worldwide within four days of its release. However, the collections fell sharply on its first Monday.According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 10.15 crore nett in India on Day 5. The latest figures show a 68.3% drop from Sunday’s gross of Rs 32 crore.
Worldwide collections cross Rs 233 crore
‘Jana Nayagan’ has taken its all India collection to Rs 134.90 crore. The film’s collection in India now stands at Rs 157.74 crore.On Monday, the film added Rs 4 crore worldwide. This took its foreign exchange risk to Rs 75.50 crore gross. As a result, the film’s worldwide collection has risen to around Rs 233.24 crore.The film was screened in 10,436 screens nationwide on Monday. That figure was down from Sunday’s 12,107 shows.The Tamil version grossed Rs 8.40 crore nett and the Hindi version grossed Rs 1.20 crore nett, while the Telugu version grossed Rs 55 lakhs.Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed Rs 65 lakhs, while Kerala contributed Rs 70 lakhs. Rest of India grossed Rs 1.26 crores, taking the film’s Day 5 India gross to Rs 11.76 crore.
Occupancy sees a better decline at night
The Tamil version registered 32.65% on Monday. The audience increased for the evening shows which registered 40.15% attendance. Night shows are followed closely by 36.31%.The Hindi version said that the total population is 12.48%. Its night shows showed the highest attendance at 17.50%.Meanwhile, the Telugu version registered 17.40%. Daytime shows performed best with 19.90% occupancy.
